Ornithology,

client: Ornithology
artist: electronics performer and composer Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch

Creation of three CD packagings for the itinerant project of the sound artist Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch. Material promotion (stickers, cards, artist statement).

This project is based on the meeting and dialogue of ancient and ancestral instruments and the electronics. No opposition between acoustic and electronic, traditional and contemporary, African and Western – but rather acceptance, collaboration and risk taking.

In the first project, Radicants, is the Kora, in the hands of a virtuoso Ballaké Sissoko, that dialogue with the sounds and paths created by Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch.

In the second project, Inner Spaces, trumpeter, santur player, vocalist, and composer Amir ElSaffar and Lorenzo Bianchi-Hoesch explore electro-acoustic spaces, maqam, microtonal harmonies, and improvised and composed structures in a modular musical composition.

In the third project, Notes on the memory of notes, writing and improvisation meet to explore new territories. Fabrizio Cassol on saxophone, Adele Viret on cello and Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch on electronics combine their artistic sensibilities in a deep and innovative dialogue.

In the graphic transposition, the territory becomes visual exploration, the border lines are fluid, rarefied, sometimes overlapping, like sounds in a musical composition.
